Young Religious: Fratelli Tutti: Dialogue and Friendship in our Communities

Loading Events

Pope Francis’ third encyclical, Fratelli Tutti, offers a straightforward, yet challenging, set of expectations for building community that go beyond mere tolerance to love.

His Holiness defines social friendship as “a love capable of transcending borders.” In calling for genuine love, he notes, “Our love for others, for who they are, moves us to seek the best for their lives. Only by cultivating this way of relating to one another will we make possible a social friendship that excludes no one and a fraternity that is open to all.”

Join young religious from across the country to discuss what this friendship actually looks like in our own religious communities, as well as common challenges, including intergenerational differences, authentic social dialogue, and reaching consensus.

This online program will start with short reflections from a couple of young religious and an experienced leader and then we will move into breakout rooms for discussion.
