National Assembly 2020

August 4-6, 2020 | Buffalo, NY

Pope Francis challenged religious to be special witnesses of doing, acting, and living, to be prophets going to the margins to transform our secular world. Five years since his call, how are we living out our prophetic witness? How do we “wake up the world” in changing times? We will explore this challenge through the lens of community life, mission, mutual relations, and leadership.

New this year is the Gathering for Young Religious for men within five years of final vows or ordination. The young religious program, being developed with a team of young religious brothers and priests, will focus on strengthening the life and ministry of religious during the early years, building fraternity across community, and developing skills for ministry and leadership.

PRESENTERS AND PANELISTS

Selected presenters include Very Rev. Gerard F. Timoner, OP, Master of the Order for the Dominicans worldwide; Br. Paul Bednarczyk, CSC, Vicar General, Congregation of the Holy Cross; Rev. Quinn Conners, O.Carm., Councilor, Carmelite Province of the Most Pure Heart of Mary; Rev. Timothy Kesicki, SJ, President, Jesuit Conference; and many more. Plus, Christopher White, National Correspondent for  Crux, will moderate a panel on how religious institutes are using media to transform the world.
